Cordyceps has the widest gap on our label between reputation and evidence file, so this guide closes that gap in our own words instead of letting the reputation sell for us.
Two things decide how you should read it: which cordyceps, and what the human studies actually found.
- Species: Cordyceps militaris, organic and cultivated
- Not the same organism as Cordyceps sinensis
- Human trials: few, small, mixed — said plainly
- Traditional link: stamina and exertion breathing
Militaris, not sinensis — and the difference matters
Our label says Organic Cordyceps militaris: the cultivated species, grown consistently, identity-tested and standardized. It is not Cordyceps sinensis, the wild-harvested organism some listings confuse it with — different species, different compound profile. If a page selling our name says sinensis, it is describing a product we do not make, which is one of the tells in our fake-seller guide.
The tradition, in one paragraph
Eastern practice has long tied cordyceps to stamina and to breathing comfortably during exertion — it is the mushroom of climbers and hard winters in traditional accounts. That reputation is why athletes keep rediscovering it, and why it closes our five-botanical blend.

See The DiscountThe modern record, without inflation
The honest summary: the human literature on Cordyceps militaris is small — a handful of controlled trials over the last decade, a few hundred participants in total, mostly examining tolerance of exertion and oxygen use. Results are mixed, with some trials reporting improvements in high-intensity measures and others finding no difference from placebo. The PubMed record is open and we encourage the check.
That reading is exactly why cordyceps is our fifth ingredient rather than our first. A stamina-support contributor inside a blend is a defensible claim; a performance promise would not be.
Who tends to notice it
Walkers, hikers, runners, singers and teachers — the customers whose day makes demands of their breath. Their letters describe it the right way: gradual, modest, noticed across weeks in how a hill or a final kilometre feels, never as a boost. There is no stimulant in the bottle to boost with, a point the stamina article expands on.
The bottom line
Cordyceps militaris earns its place on tradition plus a small, mixed trial record — and we would rather rank it honestly at number five than dishonestly at number one.
