Breathizen vs Throat Lozenges: Two Different Jobs

Dissolve slowly and bathe the throat surface as it goes — immediate, local, and finished when the lozenge is. For a scratchy afternoon it is a perfectly good tool, and nothing on this page argues otherwise. Menthol versions add a cooling sensation that many people find helpful; pectin ones simply coat.

Most throat lozenges are a menthol or pectin base plus flavouring and often a good deal of sugar — comfort, not formulation. Breathizen carries five named botanicals including 10:1 mullein and enzyme-graded bromelain with a printed 154 mg daily total. They do not compete: drops in the morning as the daily foundation, a lozenge in the pocket for a dry afternoon or a long meeting.
